How does NorthernAZRoofing work?

We're a referral service — not a roofing contractor. You answer 6 quick questions (about 90 seconds), and we match you with up to 3 vetted, locally-owned, AZ-licensed roofing contractors. Each one reaches out directly to give you a free inspection and quote. You compare side-by-side and pick whoever you like — or no one at all. We never take a cut from the actual roofing job.

What does it cost me?

Nothing. The match is free, the quotes are free, and you keep your insurance deductible. We don't sell your info to lead brokers, we don't pre-pay for your roof, and there's no obligation to hire anyone. If none of the 3 quotes feel right, walk away — no penalty.

What do the roofers pay?

Partner contractors pay a monthly subscription to receive matched leads in the cities they serve. Tiers run from Silver up through Platinum, with Gold and Platinum unlocking exclusive insurance-claim leads. Pricing and tier details live on our /pro/join page — homeowners never see line items in their match notification.

How are contractors vetted?

Every partner has an active Arizona ROC (Registrar of Contractors) license, plus general liability and workers' comp on file. We re-check the public AZROC.gov registry every night — if a license lapses or shows a serious complaint, the contractor is paused immediately and stops receiving leads. We also prefer GAF Master Elite-certified roofers (top ~3% nationally) and rank them first when they serve your city.

What if I rent my home?

We can only match property owners. If you rent, we'll route you to a short page that explains why your landlord (or property manager) needs to be the one filing — and gives you a forwardable email to send them. We don't capture your details for our partner roofers in that case.

What if I'm filing an insurance claim?

Tell us in the wizard — we'll prioritize claim-savvy roofers in your area. A good claim contractor will document the damage with drone + hands-on photos, meet your adjuster on-site, and file a supplement if the initial scope is low. Arizona adjusters under-scope roughly 40% of hail and monsoon claims; the right contractor flips that outcome (approved scopes typically go up 30-55%). You get RCV (replacement cost), not ACV (actual cash value), where your policy allows.

What roof materials do you cover?

All four common Northern Arizona systems: asphalt shingle (most homes in Prescott + Prescott Valley), Spanish/clay tile, standing-seam metal (great for Sedona + Flagstaff snow load), and SPF foam / TPO flat roofs. We also cover storm and monsoon damage, hail repair, emergency tarping, gutter, skylight, chimney flashing, and solar-prep work.

What if no one calls me?

It's rare — most matched contractors text within 60 seconds and call within the hour — but if 24 hours go by with no contact, reply to your match email and we'll re-route you to a fresh set of contractors at no charge. The reroute is automatic on insurance-claim and emergency-repair leads.

What if a contractor is too pushy?

Tell us. We pause partners who pressure-sell or won't take 'no' for an answer — your single complaint is enough to trigger a review. We also cap the match at 3 contractors total (most lead-gen sites blast you to 8+), so you're never drowning in voicemails. You're under zero obligation to hire anyone we match you with.

How is this different from Networx or HomeAdvisor?

Two big things. First: we're hyperlocal — only 11 Northern Arizona cities across Yavapai and Coconino counties. We know monsoon damage and high-elevation freeze cycles because we live here. Second: we cap matches at 3, not 8 or 12, and we never resell your contact info to a second tier of buyers. The big national networks make their money on volume; we make ours on contractors who actually close jobs.

How fast will I hear back?

First contact is usually under an hour — most of our partners text within 60 seconds of being matched. A full quote (after on-site inspection) typically lands within 24-48 hours. For storm or emergency-repair leads, we route to contractors offering same-day tarping in every city we serve.

My roof is old — should I repair or replace?

Depends on age, material, and what's failing. Asphalt shingle lasts 20-30 years at our elevation; tile underlayment fails at 25-35 years; metal goes 40-70. If you're past 80% of expected life and seeing leaks, sagging, or widespread granule loss, replacement usually beats repeat repairs on cost-per-year. If you're under 60% of expected life with localized damage (a single slope, a flashing failure), repair is almost always smarter. A free inspection from a matched contractor will tell you which camp you're in — they'll show you photos and walk through the math.
